This past Saturday at approximately 8:07pm, officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to a traffic collision on the 5500 block of Pacific Coast Highway that resulted in the death of an adult male.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle traveling northbound on Pacific Coast Highway at a high rate of speed hit a pick-up truck which was attempting to make a left turn while traveling southbound. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He is currently only being identified as a 33-year-old Long Beach resident pending notification to his family.
The driver of the truck, a 66-year-old Long Beach resident, was interviewed, cited for making an unsafe left turn, and released.
