According to L.A. Streetsblog, the “listening tour” stop in Long Beach held by the Department of Conservation’s Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) in order to address concerns about fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, was rather subdued compared to the raucus meeting held in Culver City recently.
Citizens expressed frustration that the DOGGR had not informed them more directly of the event, with most having heard of the listening tour via media outlets. Even further, though citizens were asked to submit questions, none of the questions were directly; instead, DOGGR emphasized that they were simply “listening” and commenting. In other words: all questions, no answers.
