10:00am | Monday, August 29th, at El Dorado Community Center, Fifth District City Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske will be holding a Community Conversation to discuss how proposed budget cuts will impact members of her district.
“The $20.3 million in cuts citywide proposed by Mayor Bob Foster and City Manager Pat West City will result in the loss of a fire engine at Station 18 and four to five firefighters in this district, downgrading the Ruth Bach Library to a reading room and cutting a 14-week program at Heartwell Park,” says Schipske.
In response to these proposed cuts, Councilwoman Schipske is conducting two petition drives on-line to save Station 18 and the Ruth Bach Library. These petitions are available on-line at www.gerrieschipske.com or at the check out counters of Ruth Bach and El Dorado libraries.
The Community Conversation on August 29th starts at 6:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Community Center, 2800 N. Studebaker Road.
