10:00am | Local community activist Justin Rudd will be leading a 10-year anniversary walk, candlelight vigil and remembrance ceremony on Sept. 11 starting at 7:00 pm. Sunset is at 7:05 p.m. The walk will begin at the bluff in Bixby Park at Ocean Blvd. and Cherry Ave., and finish at the World Trade Center in downtown Long Beach.

The public is invited to attend and all ages are welcome. Rudd co-hosted an event that gathered thousands on the Friday night following 9/11, and he is recreating a similar event for the 10th anniversary. 

RSVP to Justin@JustinRudd.com or just show up and bring candles that will be lit as the procession approaches downtown.  Ceremony will include various speakers and singing at the start and finish. 

The procession is a 2-mile walk down the sidewalks of Ocean Blvd. and takes about 40 minutes to walk each way.  Participants can take the Passport back to Bixby Park, use taxis or walk. Free parking is available in the public beachfront lot beneath the bluff betweeen Junipero and Cherry after 6:00 pm.
