In their continued work to prevent domestic violence against women, Long Beach’s own local non-profit Interval House will co-sponsor an event this weekend at St. Mary’s Medical Center that aims to do just that. The Day of Dialogue To End Violence Against Women will be held this Saturday, from 8:30am-3:00pm at the Health Advancement Center at St. Mary’s (1050 Linden Avenue).

The event will be held by the African American Network For Violence-Free Relationships (ANFVR) and the day of education and discussion sessions will be hosted by Ted Bunch, an expert in the field of ending domestic violence. Several nationally-renowned speakers will be on hand to guide discussions.

“We realized it’s critical to engage more men, and we became very intentional in designing an event to motivate,” says Mary Walton, a former Interval House executive director and nationally-recognized advocate of domestic violence awareness.
