8:55am | Three local real estate agents have been elected to head the state’s chapter of the Womens’ Council of Realtors for 2012. 

Real estate agent Jamie Saltman of Main Street Realtors in Long Beach has been named president of Women’s Council of Realtors’ California, Tammy Newland, owner of Long Beach-area real estate firm of Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos, has been elected as president elect for 2012. Erin Barry of Coldwell Banker Star Realty in Seal Beach was elected district vice president. 

Elections were recently held at the California Association of Realtors meetings in San Jose. All three women are member of the Women’s Council of Realtors Long Beach Chapter. The WCR Long Beach Chapter is the largest in California and is one of the largest chapters in the country. The California State chapter is the largest in the nation and has 43 chapters throughout the state.  

Saltman was the 2011 president-elect at Women’s Council of Realtors, the 2010 state secretary, and is a director on the board of the Pacific West Association of Realtors. She was also a director on the California Association of Realtors. 

Newland has served as president of the Women’s Council of Realtors Long Beach Chapter. Newland is also a California Association of Realtors director. Additionally, Newland has been involved with the Junior League of Long Beach, the Assistance League of Long Beach as a sustaining member and is a Leadership Long Beach alumni as well as a Rotarian with Long Beach Rotary.  

“I am honored to be elected to this position by my peers,” said Newland.  

Barry, who attended Long Beach City College, was the 2010 president of the WCR in Long Beach. She previously worked at Main Street Realtors. 

The WCR is an organization that helps its members in elevating their profession with education, industry knowledge, and networking opportunities.
