A few weeks ago, the Wilson boys’ soccer team closed their ’08-’09 campaign with a banquet, where awards were handed out, seniors were recognized, and the accomplishments of a successful season were remembered.
A highlight video put together by player Mohan Singhal was played (with some LB Post footage, of course), and Singhal added in some AYSO shots of the 14 seniors to boot. Perhaps the coolest banquet tradition is the performance of a team’s pre-game chant, with no opponent to intimidate—the Wilson boys did theirs for their friends and family. After the banquet was done, and the ties loosened, the players stayed after to sign each other’s media guides and reminisce, a sign of solidarity, and a sign of a season well-done.
