The Moore League will be well-represented in next weekend’s CIF Track championship meet.  At Saturday’s qualifers at Trabuco Hills, 32 events were held; a Moore League competitor finished in the top three in 15 of those events.

Highlights from Saturday included Poly’s 4X100 sweep, as they won both boys’ and girls’ events; a one-two finish for the league in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, with Millikan’s Ashley Smith winning, and Poly’s Melia Cox posting the second best time (.17 seconds back); the girls’ 800-meter, which had a ludicrous six of the top eight finishers coming out of Long Beach (led by Millikan’s Paisley Pettway); Myles Andrews’ win in the boys’ 800-meter, giving Poly a boost; Akawkaw Ndipagbor’s blazing 23.95 in the 200-meter, an event she won for Poly (Millikan’s Smith took third); Wilson’s win in the 4X400, which should be a fun final between the Bruins and the Rabbits; the Poly boys’ 1.45 seconds victory in the 4X400; Fabrina Espinoza of Wilson’s win in the long jump; and Poly’s Tara Richmond and Melia Cox going one-two in the triple jump.
