Long Beach rightly claims a lot of unique sports honors—but likely none is as unique and valuable as the Century Club’s annual Middle School Sports Banquet.  Running for several decades now, the event honors the championship teams from the city’s various Middle School programs—it’s always one of our favorite events of the year, and this year will have particular significance since longtime Middle School sports director (and Moore League secretary) Jim Lineberger will be retiring next month.  If you feel like coming by to help set up, swing by the Grand any time around 5pm and look for us—otherwise, of course we’ll have the coverage of the event up that night.
