A true Long Beach legend is coming home this week…Billie Jean King, a native of the city, will be filming spots in and around Long beach for an upcoming episode of ESPN’s Homecoming with Rick Reilly (her episode will air July 3rd).  She’s already filmed a segment at Poly, where she attended school, and Houghton Park, where she first played tennis.

King will be at Legends on Tuesday at lunchtime, and owner Gene Rotondo couldn’t be happier to have a true Long Beach legend in his establishment—be sure you get over there and say hello!  The filming will happen some time between noon and one, according to ESPN.

Then on Wednesday night, they’re filming the long segment at Recreation Park, appropriately in the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.  That will be a few-hours long taping, and you can get tickets by emailing espnevents@onsetproductions.com if you’re interested in attending.  Include full name, phone number, requested number of tickets, and your email address when contacting them about seats—the filming will start at 7, and they’re asking people to be there earlier.

For anyone who wants a chance to say hi to one of Long Beach’s greatest of all time, though, pop by Legends Tuesday on your lunch break so you don’t have to deal with the lines or tickets!
