Six local high school football players were named to the All-CIF PAC-5 Division team this week, with three each from the Moore League’s top two teams in Lakewood and Long Beach Poly.

The Moore League was represented well on the offensive side, with four players earning the honor. Running backs Keltain Malveaux from Poly and Rashaad Wadood from Lakewood joined wide receivers Richard Smith of Poly and Darius Powe of Lakewood.

Wadood has committed to play for Arizona State next year, while Smith and Powe have their senior year to look forward to and are each considering scholarship offers from several PAC-10 schools.

On the defensive side, linebacker Todd Barr of Lakewood and defensive back Kameron Jackson of Poly made the list. Barr will play for Cal next season, while Jackson has committed to North Carolina.

Poly (8-3, 6-0) captured another league title in 2010 after winning a physical battle against Lakewood (10-2, 5-1) and running the table from that point on. But the Jackrabbits had a tough draw in the playoffs and fell 26-10 to Mater Dei. Lakewood fared a little better, winning impressively in a 24-7 victory over San Clemente but fell the next week in a 42-21 game with Alemany.
