Yesterday we told you about the Sectional Tournament for PONY baseball that’s going on this week at Whaley Park, as ten teams battle for the right to advance to the Regional Tournament–if you missed the article, including Manager Ken “Mr. Baseball” Jakemer’s thoughts, click here to read it and see the bracket.

With the first two days of competition down, four games have been played, and we know who Jakemer (along with coaches Chris Elsea and Stacy Ybarra) will field a team against.  The Whaley PONY team will face Santa Monica tonight at Whaley, at 7:30pm.  Long Beach’s other PONY team, Heartwell (who won the world title in 2006), will face Redondo at the same time on Thursday evening.
