On Thursday, August 13, 2009, members of the Recreation Park Men’s Club joined junior golfers from the Long Beach Golf Little League for a Mentor Day at Recreation Park Golf Course—participating mentors include Gene Rotondo, Ken Buck, and Dan Gooch.  For many of the juniors it was their first time on an 18 hole golf course.  Sponsored by the Gooch’s Goose Invitational Golf Tournament, a grand time was had by all.  The Mentors were asked to assist the juniors in their continuing learning of the game, its rules and etiquitte….but mainly were greatly impressed with the talent of the “mentees”.  Hats off to Kevin Flanagan for his continuing efforts on behalf of the junior golfers in Long Beach.
