Poly 72, Wilson 19
It’s never an upset for Poly (8-0) to win a league game, but that’s certainly a larger margin than you’d expect against a playoff team like Wilson (4-5). The Rabbits gave up more points to Compton when they played the first time. Defense keyed Poly’s performance, as they held Wilson to 3-28 shooting, and Carl Buggs got an even distribution in scoring from his team. “There wasn’t a standout,” he said after the game, “it was a lot of girls scoring 7, 8, 9 points.”
Jordan 85, Compton 20
The Panthers (7-1) kept pace with Poly with an easy win over the Tarbabes (0-9). Should make this week’s Jordan game at the Ron Palmer Pavilion that much more interesting.
