It’s the final week of the regular season for our Moore League teams, and we were lucky enough to get some great games, as all four playoff teams were in action facing each other, with league standings on the line.  The way it shook down meant that there was a three-way tie for second—to read about how the final standings listed below came about, be sure to read the Lakewood/Compton article.

Check back Sunday morning/afternoon—playoff pairings are being announced at 11am and we’ll be bringing them to you LIVE from the CIF office as they’re announced.

Cabrillo

It was one last dance in the Heartbreak Hotel for the Cabrillo Jaguars, who fell to 0-10 with a final-week loss to the Millikan Rams.  Click here to read the full story.

Compton

It happened last season, and history repeated itself in 2008—Compton raced out to a great start at the beginning of the season, but stumbled at the finish line.  This season they lost their last two games, including this one at home against Lakewood.  Click here to read the full story.

Jordan

The Panthers are the magic men this season, just like we predicted way back in…wait, was that only two-and-a-half months ago?  Check out how far the Panthers have come: Click here for the full story and a highlight video of the game.

Lakewood

Jerry Stone’s still back, so why would you expect the Lancers to look anything less than stellar?  Remember where this team was three weeks ago?  Yeah, neither do they.  Click here to read the full story.

Millikan

Still winless in the Moore League, the Rams had one last chance to get off the schneid.  Fortunately for them, they were facing the also-winless Cabrillo Jaguars.  Click here to read the full story.

Poly

It’s official—Poly will take a perfect record into CIF, and they’ve extended their Moore League win streak to 79.  Wow.  Click here for the full story and a highlight video of the game.

Wilson

The Wilson season ended in disappointment last week with a loss to the Lakewood Lancers—they had a bye for this final week, but you can still catch up on all the other Bruins teams still playing (namely their water polo, tennis, cross country, and volleyball teams). Click here for all the updates.
