Cabrillo—The biggest showdown in the league this season happened on opening day, when the Jaguars traveled to play the Rams.  It was a well-fought game that Cabrillo lost, but it sets up a great rematch showdown.  The Jags had a bye on Wednesday and then beat Poly to improve to 1-1-0.

Compton—Compton is probably the biggest surprise after week one, with a 0-2-1 record.  Why the surprise?  Because that tie was against Millikan.  We’ll find out next week if Compton can gain momentum from the upset.

Jordan—The Panthers will compete for a playoff spot this season, and they had a great first week, going 2-1 with wins over Poly and Compton, before losing to Wilson, 3-2, on Friday.

Lakewood—The Lancers are a definite question mark this season, and they haven’t done anything to answer yet, with a win over Compton and a 1-0 loss to Millikan.  They play Jordan and Wilson next week in what could be two very important contests.

Millikan—The obvious favorite to win league, and perhaps compete for a CIF title, the Rams beat Cabrillo and Lakewood by a combined two goals, before an own-goal brought them into a surprising tie with Compton on Friday.  They play Poly next week before taking their Bye on Friday.

Poly—The Jackrabbits have been competitive, but have lost all three games they’ve played by a combined four goals, including tough ones to Wilson and Cabrillo.  They’ll need to get it on track next week, against the Rams and Tarbabes, if they want to stay in the hunt for a high standings finish.

Wilson—With strong wins against Polyly and Jordan, the Bruins have put themselves in a good position for the rest of the season.  They play Cabrillo on Wednesday and Lakewood on Friday.
