After winning their Moore League opener against Cabrillo on Monday, by a score of 1-0, the top-ranked Millikan Rams continued their 2009 campaign on Wednesday and Friday against Lakewood and Compton.

A first half goal from Edgar Melendrez was enough to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage at the Lancers’ field, improving their Moore League record to 2-0.

The result of the Compton game on Friday was a surprising 1-1 tie—Cesar Ramirez scored for the Rams in the first, but then they notched an own goal in the second when Cesar’s brother, Julio, tried to cross the ball across the Rams’ goal.  Millikan’s overall record is now 15-2-2, and their Moore League record is 2-0-1.  They next play when they host Poly on Wednesday, January 14^th at 3pm.
