We received an email recently from Robbie Stuart, a Long Beach State volleyballer back in the 70’s, and wanted to pass it along.

Katy Stone passed away in March—she worked for many decades in the Long Beach Recreation Department, and was an avid sportswoman, and renowned lawn bowler player.  She was inducted into the Century Club’s Hall of Fame for her achievements as a Lawn Bowler in 2005.  In 2000 she won the US singles championship in lawn bowling.

Anyone interested in attending is welcome to A Celebration of Life, an event in Katy’s spirit of fun.  The event is this Saturday, May 8.
