When big-time fans of the Long Beach State men’s basketball team saw the ambitious schedule Dan Monson assembled for this year’s squad, a lot of them started doing the math—not about how many wins and losses the team is likely to carry heading into conference (uh, don’t think about that), but about how much money they’d have to spend traveling to see the team. Well, the LBSU athletic department is putting together trips to help make the experience that much more memorable (and maybe even a little more affordable).
The school is in the process of offering travel packages to see the men’s basketball team play in person for two of the 49ers’ biggest road tests against Duke and Texas.
Trips to the games would include ground transportation, a round-trip flight from the Los Angeles area, lodging and a ticket to the game as the 49ers take on the Texas Longhorns and the Duke Blue Devils.
The first trip scheduled is to Austin, Texas, where the 49ers will take on the Longhorns at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 7. The second trip is set for just after Christmas, when Long Beach State will head to Cameron Indoor to play Duke at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29.
Space on these trips will be limited, so those with interest should contact the Long Beach State athletic department and join the waiting list for further information. Complete information regarding the trips will be available by August 24th.
For answers to additional questions or to join the waiting list, please contact Associate Athletic Director Adam Wald at awald@csulb.edu or (562) 985-7441.
