FINAL: UCSB 73, LBSU 50
Full game story with coach and player quotes coming later today, thanks for reading!

67-39 UCSB, 3:47
Sad way for the 49ers to end a season.  Will be an emotional last four minutes for all the seniors on this team.  You can see the frustration for Karina Figueroa in particular…rough, rough, rough.

63-39 UCSB, 4:24
Niners still can’t hit anything, and Johnson Williams are still pouring it in, with 38 points between them.

58-39 UCSB, 6:51
A comeback here would be pretty impressive, but this team is going to have to up its fg percentage by about 75 if they want to pull it off.  Just four field goals in the second after Fig gets a runner for her ninth points.  She and Sims with just 14 points combined, about twenty less than they had against UCSB in their first two games.

54-36 UCSB, 8:54
A backbreaking 6-0 run for the Gauchos.  49ers have hit just three field goals this half, not much more that needs to be said.

46-32 UCSB, 12:49
The 49ers are drawing a lot of fouls, as the Gauchos have picked up six already.  But they haven’t been capitalizing on offense still, with just five points in the first seven minutes of the half.

44-29 UCSB, 15:11
That’s 11 points in the first five minutes for the Gauchos.  Looks like they have their last meeting with the 49ers in mind–definitely looking aggressive on offense, trying to build a cushion to sustain any run from Long Beach.

40-29 UCSB, 16:56 second half
Rough start to the half, two quick fouls for the Niners and Johnson/Williams remain hot with 7 points in the first three minutes.

Halftime
For those with short memories, don’t forget there was a similar story last time these two teams played–UCSB led 29-20 at halftime, but LOng Beach scored 45 points in the second half to seal the win.

33-27 UCSB, Halftime
Better defense over the final five minutes of the half (they’re collapsing their zone to stop the driving guards), but the 49ers need to knock down more of the open shots they’re getting.  Just couldn’t score enough buckets to take advantage of some defensive stops.  We’ll see if they can find a rhythm in the second half.

27-25 UCSB 3:52 first half
A successfully executed reverse jinx.  Ally Wade hits a three (team is 4-9) and Fig gets to the line.  If they can slow down Williams and Johnson, enough players are scoring for the Niners for them to get a slight lead before halftime.

27-21 UCSB, 5:04 first half
Talk about a two-woman wrecking crew, Williams and UCSB’s Emily Johnson have 20 of team’s 27 points.  With two assists, they’ve had a hand in all but three of their team’s points.  Niners started off hot beyond the arc, with three of their first four buckets coming off threes, but they’ve gone ice cold.

21-19, UCSB 7:16, first half
The Gauchos’ Meagan Williams killing the 49ers, with 10 of her team’s 21 points.  They can’t keep her out of the paint.

Sorry for the delay, had some technical difficulties.  You’re joining us with a 19-19 tie game, with 8 minutes left in the first half!
