The Long Beach State women’s basketball team kicks off a four-game road stretch this week as it heads to New Mexico State and Texas-Pan American.
The 49ers will take on the Aggies at 6:05 p.m. (PST) on Friday, Nov. 20, before making their way to the Lone Star State on Sunday for an 11 a.m. (PST) showdown with the Broncs.
New Mexico State (1-1) earned a split in a pair of road games last week. The Aggies defeated Cal State Northridge in their season opener before falling at Cal Poly two days later. Danisha Corbett leads NMSU with a team-best 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per outing, while Madison Spence is averaging 17.0 ppg.
Texas-Pan American dropped its season opener at Oral Roberts, 98-65. The Broncs were paced by Maria Erlingsdottir and Rose Esther Jean, who each netted a team-high 11 points.
Long Beach State trails in its all-time series with New Mexico State, 12-8, but the 49ers have won the last two meetings, including a 74-61 victory on Dec. 22, 2008, at the Walter Pyramid. LBSU is 1-7 when playing in New Mexico.
The Beach leads in its series with Texas-Pan American, 1-0. The 49ers defeated the Broncs, 78-58, in the only meeting between the two teams last year at the Walter Pyramid.
