Senior Kenneth Medwood was unable to advance in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships as he finished 17th in the semifinals Wednesday evening at Hayward Field.

Medwood clocked in at 51.65 seconds to place fifth in his heat. The Los Angeles, Calif., native closed out a stellar season in which he broke the 400H school record twice. Medwood originally broke the 24-year old record when he defended his title at the Beach Invitational (50.37). He then topped that performance with a blistering 49.66 seconds to claim the Big West individual title.

Senior Alex Shaw and junior Randi Hicks will compete in the women’s javelin Saturday morning at Hayward Field.
