It is hard to imagine a better day for Beach Tennis than Friday at the Fullerton Invitational, as the 49ers finished a perfect 10-0 on the day, winning seven singles matches and three doubles matches in the first day of action.

All six players competing in Friday’s action stayed alive in the main draw in the team’s second fall tournament. #121 Anais Dallara, in her first singles action of the year, picked up two wins, defeating Cal Poly’s Alexa Lee in the opening round before defeating Elisaveta Pironkova of LMU in the closest match of the day 7-5, 7-6 (4).

Also in that flight, Jaklin Alawi and Deborah Armstrong both played well after first round byes, with Alawi beating Dori Kiss convincingly 6-0, 6-2, and Armstrong taking down UC Irvine’s Rebecca Kwan 7-6 (3), 6-2.

In Flight B, Anna Jeczmionka came off of a first-round bye to defeat another Anteater, Miranda Young 6-2, 6-3. Julie Luzar also extended her perfect record in singles on the season with two wins over Veronica Dimas and Hannah Holladay.

In doubles, the 49ers had two teams competing in Flight A. Alawi and Rachel Manasse defeated Mai/Wiesner of CS Fulllerton 8-2, while Armstrong and Dallara defeated Heckel/Pironkova of LMU 8-5.
