No. 51 Long Beach State completed a two-match sweep on their East Coast road trip, defeating George Washington 6-1 for their second win in two days. Sophomore Anais Dallara finished the week with perfect record and didn’t drop a game on the day.

Long Beach State started the day by taking the doubles point. The 49ers were upset at No. 1 doubles, but Dallara’s impressive day began with an 8-0 doubles victory with Deborah Armstrong, and Sarah Cantlay and Anna Jeczmionka defeated Lysienia/Gluck 8-1.

In singles, Dallara swept Mimi Hamling 6-0, 6-0 to get the day started for a second point, and the 49ers also picked up wins in spots three through six. Jaklin Alawi beat Nadia Demidenko 6-1, 6-2, and Anna Jeczmionka earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Zoe Krohn in her first match at the No. 5 position. Rachel Manasse beat Dorata Lysienia 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 and Sarah Cantlay rounded out the day with a  7-6, 6-1 win.

Beach Tennis returns home this week for their home opener at the Rhodes Tennis Center. The Beach hosts Cal State Fullerton in a Big West match at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 5.
