Long Beach State got on the board early and held on to the shutout as they defeated Cal State Fullerton 1-0 on Sunday night at Titan Stadium. Long Beach State improved to 10-4-3 overall with a 4-0-1 record in conference play. Cal State Fullerton dropped to 7-9-1 overall and 2-4 in league.
Lindsay Bullock had the lone goal of the game on a shot from 20 yards out in the 16th minute of play. It was Bullock’s eighth goal of the season and leads the team in scoring. It was a close matchup as the 49ers barely outshot the Titans 10-9, but LBSU’s defense prevailed. Liz Ramos made three saves in her seventh shutout of the season. Bullock and Hayley Bolt led the offense with three shots apiece.
The 49ers have a week off before they return to action against Cal State Northridge on October 26 at 12 p.m. at George Allen Field for their final game of the regular season.
