From LBSU reports
Middle Blocker Naomi Washington doubled up on her postseason honors, earning All-American accolades after previously being selected first-team All-Region.
A junior from New Orleans, Washington started every match for the 49ers in 2008, leading The Beach in both hitting percentage and blocking. Her .351 hitting ranked among the nation’s best, and was second-best in the conference.
Washington was third for the 49ers with 288 kills on the year, averaging 2.36 kills per set, while also adding 115 blocks and 7 service aces. Washington becomes the 21st player to receive All-American honors for Long Beach State, and continues a streak that’s seen 49ers have at least one player honored in the last five years, and 22 of the last 23.
