It was a fun ride but Karina Figueroa was released from the Sparks last week, and will now head south to train with the Peruvian National Team.  She was a longshot to make the team, but the experience will likely prove invaluable—coach Jennifer Gillom said that with her work ethic, she’d expect Figueroa to catch on somewhere else in the league, next season if not this.  After she’s done in Peru, Figueroa will likely head overseas to play this season, if she doesn’t grab a look from another WNBA team.
