Long Beach State ran its win streak to three matches with a 30-25, 30-27, 26-30, 30-24 win at UC San Diego on Friday night. 

Senior Dean Bittner led Long Beach State (5-4, 4-2 MPSF) with 20 kills, his 34th career match with at least 20 kills.  Antwain Aguillard added a career-high 16 kills, while Jim Baughman had 13 and Dalton Ammerman chipped in a season-high tying 11 kills.  Conor Eaton finished with 62 assists as The Beach hit .364 for the match. 

Jason Spangler led UC San Diego (3-7, 1-5 MPSF) with 19 kills.

UC San Diego jumped out to an early four-point lead in the first set, but LBSU battled back tying the game at 12-12.  The two teams traded points with no one leading by more than two points before the 49ers went on a four-point run to take a 28-24 lead. 

Aguillard led a balanced attack in the first set with six kills, while Ammerman and Bittner added five and Dan Alexander had four.  The Beach hit .529 in winning the first game.

The second set was just as close throughout.  Neither team led by more than three points until LBSU went on a 4-1 run to push a 23-22 lead to 27-23.  The 49ers closed out the game on an Aguillard kill, his 12th of the match.

The Beach jumped out to a five-point lead in game three, 9-4 and 17-12, but UCSD stormed back finally tying the set a 20-20.  The Tritons ended up scoring 18 of the last 27 point to pull within two games to one.

The 49ers jumped out to an early lead in the fourth set and never trailed in wrapping up the win.
