Dean Bittner had a match-high 15 kills and hit .346 but it wasn’t enough as Long Beach State dropped a 30-24, 30-24, 30-21 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation at No. 1 Cal State Northridge Thursday night.

Long Beach State (5-4, 4-3 MPSF) hit .244 for the match, but the Matadors (10-2, 7-2 MPSF) hit a blistering .476 to run away from the 49ers.  Tanner Nua led CSUN with 13 kills and hit .476, while Theo Edwards had 12 kills, six in the first game, and hit .333.

Long Beach State didn’t have a player with more than six kills other than Bittner.
