The Long Beach State ice hockey team was trying to defend their home rink on Friday night, and came up just short, as the Loyola Marymount Lions scored with less than three minutes to go in the game to secure a 3-2 victory over the Niners. Sean Hoang and Dominic Mitrano had the goals for the Beach.

 

Next weekend the 49ers have a home/at-home series against the San Diego Aztecs. Saturday night at 9pm will be the team’s final home game of the season–they’ll be honoring their graduating seniors, and it will also be a fan appreciation night. All fans in attendance will get one free opportunity drawing ticket for a chance to win Beach Hockey & LA Kings merchandise, Jody Maroni’s & Tommy’s food vouchers, and more.
