Long Beach State athletics director Vic Cegles has announced the hiring of Lisa Mabry as the 49ers’ associate athletics director for compliance.

“We are pleased to have Lisa join our team,” Cegles said. “Her experiences with NCAA compliance, coaching and playing background and strong commitment to student-athlete welfare are a great match for our 49er athletics family.”

Mabry comes to The Beach from Cal State Northridge where she has been the director of compliance since 2007.

Before her stint with the Matadors, Mabry worked at Cal State Dominguez Hills from 2002-07. During her time at CSUDH, Mabry served as assistant softball coach (2002-05), assistant compliance coordinator (2002-05) and compliance coordinator/senior woman administrator (2005-07).

Mabry is a member of the National Association for Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) and the National Association for Compliance Coordinators (NAAC).

As a student-athlete, Mabry played two years of softball at Cypress College, where she helped the Chargers to a state championship in 1999. She then transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills to finish her career.

Mabry received her bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in advertising from CSUDH in 2002 and went on to receive her MBA in 2006.
