The Long Beach State women’s golf team travels to San Luis Obispo for the Big West Conference Championship, Apr. 18-20, at the par-72, 6,168 yard San Luis Obispo Country Club.

Opening round action begins on Sunday, Apr. 18 at 7:30 a.m., with second round play teeing off at 9 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 19 and the final 18 holes concluding on Tuesday, Apr. 20 at 8 a.m.  Live action can be followed on golfstat.com.

LBSU will be among a seven team field that will compete for the conference title and the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.  Juniors Lindsey McAtee and Reina Rogers, sophomores Monica Villarreal and Noelle Zavaleta and freshman Simone Hoey will represent the 49ers as they go up against Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, No. 31 UC Davis, No. 40 UC Irvine and UC Riverside.

The Beach enters the Big West Championship ranked 78th in the latest Golfweek ratings and 80th in Golfstat.

The 49ers are the defending Big West Champions as they captured the program’s first conference title by one stroke over UC Irvine and UC Davis, as The Beach advanced to their second-ever NCAA appearance.  LBSU carded a 308 and 313 on the first day and finished the final round with a 308 for a 54-hole total of 20-over 929.
