After one round of play at the U.S. Intercollegiate, the Long Beach State men’s golf team carded a 26-over 306 at the par-70, 6,727 yard Stanford Golf Course to finish in 15th place.

Opening round play was concluded on Monday morning after being suspended on Sunday afternoon due to heavy rains in the Bay Area.

Third-ranked Washington currently leads the field of 20 teams as the Huskies finished at one-over 281, followed by No. 4 UCLA at three-over (283) and No. 6 Oregon at six-over (286). Tournament host No. 2 Stanford completed the opening round in eighth place at 12-over (292).

LBSU was led by senior Robbie Berton as he tied for 36th with a 74 (+4), followed by freshman Benjamin Lein with a 75 (+5) as he tied for 44th.

Sophomore Kevin Roy finished third for The Beach as he tied for 56th with a 76 (+6), with senior Michael Drake carding an 81 (+11) as he tied for 91st and freshman Raymond Ho shooting an 84 (+14) as he finished the morning round tied for 101st.

John Chin of UC Irvine sits on top of the leaderboard with a 66 (-4), followed by Jay Myers of San Jose State with a 67 (-3).

Second round action began early this afternoon after a short rain delay and tournament officials are hoping that teams can complete the round by the end of today, with weather permitting. Live action can be followed on golfstat.com.

Final round action is scheduled for tomorrow with shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
