10:00 | The Long Beach City College women’s basketball team fell to Cerritos College by a final score of 74-40 in a South Coast Conference South Division game at the Hall of Champions Gym on Wednesday night.

The loss dropped LBCC to 3-16 overall and 0-2 in the SCC South while Cerritos improved to 15-10 and 2-1 in division play.

Freshman forward Rayven Sellers scored a game-high 15 points and led all with 17 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings. Freshman forward Lynnsie Nallus also posted a double-double for Long Beach as she totaled 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Cerritos stormed out to a 13-0 lead as the Vikings missed their first 13 shots from the field. The Falcons were up 29-1 before freshman Denisse Hernandez’ jumper at the 9:16 mark in the first half broke the Vikings’ cold streak. Cerritos led 49-11 at halftime.

The Falcons had five players in double-figures. Rose Boatner led Cerritos with 15 points and 15 rebounds and Adria Jackson poured in 14 points and grabbed 11 boards.

The LBCC women are back in action on Tuesday (Feb 2) when they host El Camino College in a 5:30 pm SCC South Division game.
