
In the Water Polo State Tournament, held at Merced College, the LBCC men’s and women’s teams both placed high, as the men won their final game, against Grossmont, by a score of 17-11 to capture third place. Dusan Ivanovski led the Vikings with five goals, followed by Shawn Nolan and Daniel Lungu with three. Goalie Matt Schamp had 8 saves.
The women’s team had advanced to the championship game, but fell to Cerritos 11-6, finishing their season as state runner up. They goals came from Ashley Cordobes, Kimmy Morrison, and Jenna Stain, who each had two.
