Final score: Claudia Toledo 3, El Camino College, 1.  The freshman forward scored three goals to lead the Long Beach City College women’s soccer team to an easy 4-1 South Coast Conference win over visiting El Camino College on Tuesday at LBCC.

The win improved the Vikings to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play, while El Camino dropped to 5-9-1 and 2-6 in the SCC.

Toledo opened the scoring with her first goal in the 10th minute. Freshman defender Jeanette Ramirez sent a long pass up the center of the field and connected with Toledo on stride. She then nailed her shot past ECC goalie Alicia Sala to give Long Beach the 1-0 lead.

The game remained 1-0 until late in the half. El Camino’s Kiki Wilson tied the game with her header goal off the corner kick from Julianne Martinez in the 35th minute.

But the second half was all Long Beach.

Toledo earned breakaway goals in the 50th and 73rd minutes to complete her hat trick.

Freshman forward Ashlynn Bolt (also one assist) closed out the scoring with her goal in the 80th minute.

LBCC freshman midfielder Lauren Ingram totaled two assists in the win. Freshman Sara Thatcher needed to make just one save in goal over the first 84 minutes of the contest and sophomore Ileana Aparicio closed out the win with six scoreless minutes.

Sala posted four saves in the loss for the Warriors.

The Lady Vikings return to action on Friday (Oct 30) when they host Los Angeles Harbor College in a 2 p.m. SCC game.
