The 2009 Long Beach City College softball season got underway recently with the annual Alumni Game.  Nine former Vikings showed up to play the 2009 squad and numerous others were in the stands to watch.

Co-head coaches Melissa Angel and Jack Hutchinson return for their second season after leading LBCC to the state championship tournament last year. The Vikings compiled a 32-15-1 overall record and finished third in the South Coast Conference at 11-4.
