On Sunday, the hardy 14 & Under team from local club Shore Aquatics won the prestigious Zone Qualifying Tournament for the Speedo Cup.  Shore, and 13 other teams from across the country, will now advance to play in the Speedo Cup at the University of Michigan, from November 14-16th.

Already a special group because of the win, this team has a historical significance for Long Beach water polo fans, as well, as they were the last club team coached by Klaus Barth, the legendary Wilson aquatics institution who died a few years ago.  If you’ve seen the “Live Like Klaus” bumper stickers all around Long Beach, you know his memory is living strong, and his last club team is making sure to do their part, with “KB” written on their arms and a Live Like Klaus banner.

Congrats to the team, and coaches Chi Kredell and John Foster on the accomplishment, and best of luck in Michigan!
