With the formal announcement of Ron Massey’s retirement last Friday at Jordan’s basketball banquet, the Moore League has lost its longest-tenured basketball coach.  Massey had been coaching the boys’ basketball team for 29 seasons, since joining the school in 1981 (he was an assistant to Ron Palmer at Poly prior to that).

Massey led the Panthers to three CIF titles, in 1991, 1993, and 1996.

In addition to losing one of its most successful basketball coaches, the Moore League is losing an athletic director; Massey was the boys’ AD at Jordan, and is retiring from that capacity (as well as teaching) once the Summer rolls around.

Congrats to one of the lions of Moore League (a Panther, no less), on a brilliant and successful career—we’ll miss the history lessons!
