Hockey players are quiet possibly the manliest athletes in all of sports, save perhaps those Peruvian guys who try and kill each other with spears. That’s why their decision to wear pink jerseys tonight against USC as a fundraiser for the fight against breast cancer is all the more impressive. The jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction throughout the game, starting with a minimum bid of $40—the proceeds will be donated to breast cancer charities.
If you’re interested in coming to the game—and regardless of the jerseys, you should definitely come out and heckle the bejeezus out of USC—it’s going to be tonight, at 9pm, at the Glacial Gardens on Carson. You can listen to the game live via www.longbeachstate.com, if you can’t make it—if you can, bring your best “boo” voice for USC, and your checkbook to help fight breast cancer.
