Poly’s girls’ basketball team has made a habit of taking on nationally ranked teams this season, part of coach Carl Buggs’ three-tiered goal for each year.  “Win CIF, win state, and be the best team in the nation.”  A top-five already in a number of rankings, Poly beat its sixth national top-25 team on Saturday night, downing the Whitney Young Dolphins at home, 56-49.

With that final nonleague game out of the way, the Rabbits now have just Cabrillo and Compton between them and another undefeated Moore League season, and the CIF playoffs, where they’ll undoubtedly play a few more nationally ranked teams before the season is through.
