Coming off a big victory over Lakewood earlier in the week, the Wilson Bruins were looking to solidify their third-place position in the league with a win over the luckless Compton Tarbabes, who are winless and posting an average point differential of more than -50 in league. Things went pretty much as you’d expect, as the Bruins won 74-19 to close the first half of league play at 4-2, having beaten everyone but Poly and Millikan.
Senior guard Ciarra Ford paved the way with 22, backed by fellow guard Jazmyne Porter with 12, and Victoria Debose added 11. It’s the Bruins’ fifth win in a row, and they improve to 4-2 in league. Stay tuned for our league standings and update tomorrow, as well as our preview of the second half of league play later this weekend.
