Lakewood vs. Poly @ Cerritos College Falcon Stadium, Tonight: 7pm

Normally we use this Game O’ Da Week feature to do a little preview and analysis of the biggest game of the week—however, we’ve been breaking down the X’s and O’s of Lakewood/Poly all week (you can read our collected matchup articles by clicking here), so we’re just going to take this time to make sure you’re prepared for the X’s and O’s of watching the game.

In case you weren’t aware, it’s being played at a neutral location, at Cerritos College’s Falcon Stadium, just a few miles to the north of us.  If you’ve never been, our directions to the stadium are below—we made the drive for the Lakewood/Servite game, and if you’re trying to get up there on a Friday evening, we’d recommend avoiding the freeways.  If you take surface streets north, you’re pretty much guaranteed not to get stuck in traffic, which is a good idea.  As always, directions in the map are from Long Beach State’s Walter Pyramid.

Tickets will be $5 for students, and $8 for general admission, available at the schools or at the gate (parking is free by the way).  That’s a ridiculously good price for what may be one of the best high school games played in the country tonight, so we imagine you’re willing to pony up a few bucks.  If you don’t want to be one of the 10,000 fans expected to flock to Falcon Stadium, you can watch the game live…right here!  We’ll be embedding a live Vootage video stream so you can watch the game as it’s happening.  Look for the video player at the top of the page as we get closer to game time—if you want to build anticipation even more, keep your eyes on the countdown clock on the left sidebar!

We’ll see you at the game—say hi if you see us on the field or in the stands!
