By what can only be referred to as overwhelming reader request, we’re planning on covering more offseason football—passing league games, spring games and the like.  And, two days after we’ll be at the Wilson Spring Game (where we are once again serving as honorary coaches), we’ll be at Cerritos College to cover the 43rd Annual 605 All-Star Game.  Why?  Because 25 local athletes—23 Moore Leaguers and two players from St. Anthony—will be on the roster for the East and West teams.

For reasons that have yet to be explained to us, Poly is on the East roster, with Cory Westbrook, Chris Leachman, and Ryan Goforth.

All the other local kids will be on the West side, which will be coached by Mario Morales and the rest of the Wilson coaching staff.  Their roster features Terrence Woods, Aubrey McCullogh, Chris Davis, and Oliver Robertson from Lakewood; Ezell Ruffin, Vergee Whitaker, Cheyne Garcia, Philip Wilson, and Josh Kocher from Wilson; Alden Darby, Paul Slater, Silver Vaifanua, and Kilisi Suai from Millikan; Chris Jones, Josiah Marshall, Bryant Hayes, James McConico, and Lalo Nevarez from Compton; Princeton Fuimaono from Jordan; Derek Speight from Cabrillo; and Emmanuel Andino and Frank Hornberger from St. Anthony.

More info on tickets and the teams as we get closer to the game—but mark it down on your calendar, June 5th at Cerritos College.  We’ll see you there!
