At the Newport Elks Tournament before a squadron of scouts out to see Irvine’s pitching staff, the Tarbabes surprised the Vaqueros by working the ball around on their batters, something the Compton pitching staff has struggled to do at times.  After four innings, the score was a very tight 2-1, before Irvine went on a run, going on to win 10-1, with a strong performance from first baseman Jovan Bronson.  The Tarbabes fall to 0-3, and will continue to progress through the Newport Elks tourney—we’ll keep you updated.

Be sure to check out the first annual Hub City Classic at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Saturday, March 21st—Compton, Centennial, and Dominguez will be playing for Compton bragging rights, and some other cool festivities have been planned.
