Two Moore League teams went into Saturday, and two of them came out—granted, only one of them actually played, but we’re still happy that both Lakewood and Wilson remain in the mix.
Lakewood
The Lancers didn’t get to play on Saturday, as their second-round 2pm match with Los Osos was postponed due to the wildfires blazing to our east. The falling ash certainly wasn’t tennis weather, and the fires stood in between the two schools, since Los Osos is in Ontario, on the other side of the evacuation zones. For a detailed map of the fire zones, check out this link to a map put together by the LA Times.
The match with Los Osos has been postponed till Monday at 2pm—it will still be hosted by Lakewood.
Wilson:
Wilson made it east to play their scheduled match against Centennial (Corona) and was rewarded, as the Bruins rolled on 12 matches to 6. They’ve earned the right to advance to the quarterfinals, where they’ll face La Reina. Of course, we’ll update when we learn where that match will be held, but we know it will be Tuesday at 2pm.
