A turbulent season comes to an end for the Wilson Bruins, who fell 1-0 on the road in a match against the Los Osos Grizzlies, the champion of the Baseline league and a very tough first-round opponent.  The Grizzlies scored early, in the first ten minutes, and fended the Bruins off for the rest of the game.   “We just got off to a sluggish start,” said Bruins coach Jason Kirkwood after the game.  “They controlled most of the first half, we switched formations in the second and controlled most of that half.”

Each team took just six shots in a game that saw limited chances for both squads.  “The extra game we had to play on Tuesday really hurt us,” said Kirkwood, referring to the wild card match they played against Chaparral earlier in the match.  “We picked up some injuries, plus my girls were really sore and tired because it was in heavy mud.”  The Bruins’ sluggish start was too big of a hurdle to overcome, with the Grizzlies getting the early goal before their energy picked up.
