It’s important when you’re the three-time defending state champs to maintain your focus, and not look too far ahead; the Poly Jackrabbits managed to avoid any kind of a letdown in a whopper win over Paramount, 65-15. The Jackrabbits were up 27-2 after the first quarter, and never looked back. Monique Oliver led the ‘Rabbits with twelve points, all in the first quarter; Ariya Crook-Williams had 11, and Thaddesia Southall scored ten.
“It was a good win,” said Poly coach Carl Buggs after the game. “Everybody got a chance to play.”
The ‘Rabbits now advance to the second round, where they’ll face Dana Hills, who beat Redlands 56-42 last night. A coin flip today will determine who will host Saturday’s matchup; we’ll keep you posted!
