Wilson vs. ML King; Belmont @ 3:15pm

The Wilson Bruins were one of eight teams who got a bye in the first round of the CIF playoffs—but vacation is over for the CIF Division 2 no. 3 Bruins, who throw open the historic glass doors of the Belmont this afternoon to welcome ML King, out of Riverside.

The Wolves are the no. 2 seed from the Big VIII league (where Corona Santiago got the top spot), and will be trying to pull a pretty significant upset when they play Wilson.

King isn’t really a water polo school—they’ve only won two league titles in their history, and on a long list of athletics accomplishments on their school website, there’s none listed for boys’ water polo—but they have pulled a couple upsets this year, and will be going for another against Wilson.  They’ve gotten great play from their goalkeeper, and average just six goals allowed in their wins this year.  In other words, if that high-octane Wilson offense can get going, the Bruins should take care of business, and likely face San Clemente in the quarterfinals.
