Today and Saturday, the gymnasium of Cabrillo High will host a dazzling array of the most talented high school basketball players in Southern California when the Pangos All-American LIVE event comes to Long Beach.

There are several Pangos events throughout the summer all around the West Coast, but this weekend’s showcase gives the area’s best players a chance to compete against each other and then join forces for all-star games later on Saturday. There’s no better chance to see this many stars in action.

The players arrive at the camp today and will attend an NCAA Educational Session to brief them on recruiting rules and such, then they’ll get their team assignments and games run from 6:15-10:00pm tonight.

On Saturday, the morning games run from 9:00am-12:00pm and All-Star games begin shortly after – the Top 40 game at 1:45pm and the Top 20 game at 2:45pm.

You can expect to see plenty of local boys playing on Saturday afternoon. Long Beach Poly stars Ryan Anderson, Alexis Moore, Alex Carmon and Roschon Prince will all be in attendance along with big names like dribbling machine Cezar Guerrro of St. John Bosco and Kevin Johnson of Taft High.

I’ll be around all weekend, hope to see you out there.
